Skincare Products Review

I bought quite a lot of new skincare products recently. After being a white rat in the lab for few weeks, I’m now putting my sacrifices into a research report and make a conclusion for each one that I have experimented.

ASSATA Pore Minimising Serum

RM145 @ Assata Skincare Centre

It delivers excellent results if you are the one who always squeeze your blackheads and whiteheads like me. Usually our pores will get larger after the extraction. But miracle does happen. By applying the serum after the extraction, your open pores will be minimised to pre-extraction pore size.

CONCLUSION: It’s not a perfect solution to get rid of large pores problem eternally because I found that it only delivers visible result when I apply after the extraction.

MELILEA Advanced Toning System

RM289. You can get it from all Melilea distributors.

This Advance Toning System comprises of one facial massager and one hydrating gel. Hydrating gel must be applied on clean face before you start massaging. Using the facial massager requires some techniques. Wrong techniques will not bring any adverse effects but it just can’t deliver the lifting and firming results.

According to the distributors from Melilea, this massager is good in firming, lifting and reducing the fine lines and wrinkles on your face. In addition, it can give you a more even skin tone and brighter complexion as massaging can enhance the blood circularisation.

CONCLUSION: I GAVE UP. I’ve been using this for three consecutive weeks but no visible results are obtained. I’m unsure whether I use the wrong technique or the product itself is not effective.

SUISSE PROGRAM Revitalising Eye Mask

RM189 @ Sasa

This is a cream type mask that requires you to rinse off after the application.

CONCLUSION: The result is below my expectation.

RM199 @ SASA

This is the most recommended rinse-off mask in SASA outlet. I bought this because this mask is so special. It will produce small bubbles after applying, and the bubbles will disappear slowly while the moisture is being absorbed into the skin.

CONCLUSION: It looks amazing, but after rinsing off with water, my skin has a slight tingling effect. According to the promoter in SASA, the tingling effect is due to the reaction of the ingredients when it generates more oxygen for your skin. I’m not sure whether this is true because I’m unable to see the oxygen level in my skin. So do you believe it? And please do not use if your skin is peeling as it will cause irritation or redness.

CLINIQUE Derma White Brightening Eye Cream & Eye Protector SPF 15

Two products in one price. RM135 @ all leading department stores

The Brightening Eye Cream can be used during daytime and also night time. It’s a non greasy yet smooth and hydrating cream.

Not only the face needs sun protection, the delicate eye area needs as well. The white-base cream of the eye protector is very good in covering your dark eye circles for a very natural look.

CONCLUSION: Do not expect the whitening of eye area will happen because I know that all kind of whitening products within this price range doesn’t work well. I’m just looking for hydration and eye protection.

CLINIQUE Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief (Left)
CLINIQUE All About Eyes Rich (Right)

RM160 (left) & RM130 (right) @ all leading department stores

CLINIQUE Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief- I love this hydrating cream simply because it gives my skin a smooth and velvety finish. It’s my best screensaver skin saver when I travel because it can be used as a mask. No rinse-off is required. So I just apply a thick layer of the cream and then jump into the bed without worrying what time I need to rinse or remove it.

CONCLUSION: It’s the best hydrating cream ever as it can be applied at any time under or over make up. Cool right?

CLINIQUE All About Eyes Rich
- This All About Eyes Rich is good for the dehydrating eye area. It works better than the All About Eyes, the oil-free version as it provides higher moisture level.

CONCLUSION: It’s better than any eye cream within the same price range that I used before.

Luna Bar

I went to Luna Bar again!!!

I’m so in love with it because it’s a perfect place for drinks that meet my “chill out” definition. The ambient music, illumination of the lights and the sophisticated design add glamour to the elegant atmosphere.

I'm not in good mood today though writing this entry should be a delightful one. I feel so helpless and hopeless now. I'm unsure about my direction in the middle of the road. I don't dare to cross the road. I don't know where I should go.

I just don't know why there is someone that will never feel guilty after breaking a promise that made due to a broken promise.

I want to bury myself with tonnes of Britain bank notes so that I can die happily.

Dim Sum Sensations

It was a usual Sunday but I decided to make it a day for special outing. Of course KL was only my choice and this outing really delighted me as you will never find such a nice place and nice food in the boring dead town, Seremban.

Where do you guys normally go when you want to look for nice dim sum in KL?

For me, I love the dim sum in Tai Zi Heen at Prince Hotel & Residence KL. It is an award-winning chinese restaurant that offers the finest dim sum and Chinese cuisine.

If you think Ming Kok Restaurant in Seremban can satisfy your appetite, then you will love the dim sum in Tai Zi Heen to death as it tasted 100 times better than the one in Seremban. Ok, but the price of one plate of dim sum is 4 or 5 times more expensive than Ming Kok.

Impressive décor and delightful dining atmosphere

You can view the 2000-piece crystal chandelier in the dining hall at Tai Zi Heen.

The menu

So are you ready to scroll down for the CLIMAX of this post?

Please do not drool………….

Seafood congee with fresh scallops

The porridge was super duper smooth with lots of scallops inside

Dim sum and cheese lovers will definitely like this.

Pan-fried crispy beancurd tian with parmesan cheese & shrimp. Because of the words of “parmesan cheese”, I could hardly resist myself from not ordering it.

The cheese was oozing out..... Perfect combination!

Steamed rice rolls filled with fresh scallops

Can you see how big the scallop is?

Steamed beancurd skin roulade topped with sun dried scallop shreds & abalone sauce

It’s so juicy and also perfect to whet the appetite

Stop drooling ok?

Prawn mango katafi with wasabi dressing

This was the BEST amongst all dim sum that I ordered. Words to describe: Crispy, aromatic and heavenly delicious!

Chef’s signature Dish- A selection of premium dim sum that costs RM22 for a plate

Steamed chicken & shrimp dumpling filled with fresh scallop & black pepper (Siew Mai)

Steamed crystal dumpling filled with truffled shrimp (Har Kau)

Ok. Let me reveal how it looks............

Black colour Har Kau? But it tasted extremely yummy because the prawns were so big and fresh

Crispy yam puffs filled with chicken, mushroom and black pepper sauce

All the dim sum were heavenly delicious except this:

Steamed shark’s fin dumpling with prawn and vegetables

It wasn't that bad but just did not meet my expectation.

Finally, it’s dessert time. We rounded up our meal with a refreshing and zesty offering, “Mango pudding served with tangy mango sauce”. But this mango pudding still cannot beat the one I tried in Hong Kong. 0__o

And lastly, got myself posing in front of the restaurant to capture that 2000-piece crystal chandelier.

After having a hearty meal at Tai Zi Heen, I went to a bar with the most relaxing and delightful ambience called .................................. (TO BE CONTINUED)

Oriental Las Vegas- Macau

We stayed in Casa Real Hotel at Macau. Why we chose Casa Real? Because the hotel we wanted to book was full and since we couldn't afford to stay in Venetian Macau, any strategically located and available four-star hotel would be our choice. I don't know why hotels in Macau are always fully-booked. Are there so many gamblers or tourists?

Casa Real Hotel's reception area

Hotel lobby

It's my room. The management should renovate or refurbish the hotel as the bathroom and furnitures were quite old

You could find many many casinos nearby

We visited the casino in our hotel. It was a small one with heavy cigarrette smoke everywhere. I hate casino because I never use my own money to gamble (I placed bet on behalf of someone for only once). Good girl right?

The next day, we went to Sands Casino to take shuttle bus to the luxurious Venetian Macau.

In front of Sands Hotel

It's a heavy investment to turn Macau from a gambling paradise into a family entertainment centre.

Yeah... We arrived Venetian Macau. I want to take photos "gau gau"

The Colonade near the hotel lobby

Casino. As you can see from the photo, the guard was trying to stop me from taking photo as this is strictly prohibited in all areas nearby and in the casino. I was super naughty

They have four casinos, Imperial House, Red Dragon, Phoenix and Golden Fish. All names sound very powerful and auspicious.

The most attractive and must-visit place in Venetian Macau is definitely The Grand Canal Shoppes that features the unique european architecture. Please be prepared for the voluminous photos.

St. Mark's Square

The Europe shade of beauty

The sky is blue despite the weather changes

Wish I could win big money at the casino

A gondola is moored indoors at "St Mark's Square" at the Venetian Macau

I saw this giant Christmas tree when I walked in the casino

Merry Christmas

My colleagues were crazily playing with each other as we were too boring staying in the gamblers' heaven

As quoted from The Sydney Morning Herald, "The Venetian strategy is simple: get the Asian visitor, who already spends a huge amount on gambling, to come for longer, bring their family and scoop up every luxury brand they can get their hands on".

The unrivalled selection of gambling options will definitely make you poorer and help them to accumulate wealth to become richer. And be frank, I extremely dislike gamblers. I mean those who seriously addicted to gambling.

My camera was running out of battery after intensive shooting at Venetian Macau. So please bring extra battery (and money) if Venetian Macau is not your last stop.

Senado Square

Senado Square is part of the World Heritage Site and it's paved in the traditional Portugese pavement. It has always been the city centre in Macau and most importantly, the yummy "Double Skin Milk" shop is just right located at this beautiful place.

A sunny afternoon

Posing under the scorching sun

Famous pork chop bun for only RM4.80

Souvenirs' shop

Can you see that? Finally we were approaching the Ruins of St. Paul

Really a beautiful place for camwhoring..... Wish to take my wedding photos here too... Anyone who is willing to take wedding photo with me?

You will get frustrated by the non-stop visitors that block the scene when you want to take photo

Macau is a very beautiful place. It's even better than Hong Kong (except Disneyland). All the buildings here are very special and they strongly reflect the Portugese culture. OMG! It makes me think of Portugese Tart. I'm freaking hungry now!

I discover another amazing building in Macau. Scroll down to view the photo..........

It's MGM Grand, owned and operated through a 50/50 partnership between MGM Mirage and Pansy Ho Chiu King , the daughter of Stanley Ho.

The links below will bring you to all my entries of the trip to the historical Macau and modern Hong Kong. Enjoy reading!

What are you waiting for? Get your tickets at www.airasia.com or you can choose Cathay Pacific or MAS Airlines and remember to bring me along for our wedding photos ok? I'm serious. I'm now offering myself to be your bride.

Am I serious? You guess.......
