Think of Penang, think of FOOD

I’m back from Penang!

Had been working there for a week but too bad we stayed at Prai and thus, we ended up having same food at same place almost every day.

But, we were able to discover some delicious Penang food too!

Hokkien Loh Mee

I had this three times a week as my lunch because I can never find this in Seremban. Yum yum…..

Chicken drumstick mee suah with herbal soup

Duck drumstick mee suah with herbal soup. Love the herbal soup and felt the healthiness. Yummy!

This is so cheap! With only RM3.80, you can savour a bowl of herbal soup with chicken drumstick at this price!

Crossed Penang Bridge and went to Gurney Drive for food hunting because we gotta go to airport to fetch our manager.

The food court at Gurney drive is a food heaven!

I supeeeeer love the fried oyster omelette there. Every morsel is a mix of crunch, freshness, and juice. Strongly recommended!!

Alice and me couldn't stop eating and we ended up ordered 4 plates!

The oysters were so fresh and according to Debbie, the "ohmic" moment was when she bite and the fresh oyster juice burst and spilled into her mouth!!

Tau Hu Fa. This is extremely super ultra SMOOTH and it melted inside my mouth within 2 seconds.

Char Kuew Teow again

Dried style ikan bakar. This tasted very good too!

After tasting so many different kinds of yummy local delicacies, we headed to another place in town for blissful bite dessert.

Tadaa………

Hong Kong glutinous rice ball. A very hearty dessert that made us drove all the way to the town.

There are many types of sweet broth – my favourite is red bean soup and soy milk!!! Drooling now OMG!

They features black sesame filling and peanut filling. Perfect match!

Some photos taken at Gurney Drive after our hearty meal.

  11. Wow! I totally miss Penang food. I used to live in Gurney for a while and ate laksa and won ton mee so many times, it was so yummy. I plan to blog about Penang in the future. Would be possible, if I borrow some of your pics? I would credit you of course. Back in 2007, I didn't make many pics of food. I regret it now.

Is Pasembur the legendary penang rojak or something awesome which I never tried before?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Beverly: Pasembur is a popular Penang hawker food. It's similar to Rojak but the whole salad dish is covered in a spicy sauce made from sweet potato.
