Broccoli Cheese Soup Recipe

I received some requests from my friends to send them the Broccoli Cheese Soup Recipe that I posted on Facebook on Sunday.

Actually this is a very simple recipe I created after reading a few on the web. Those on the web are usually creamy type and I wanted to make something less creamy as Ken prefers Chinese-style soup.

A hearty and healthy meal. Ken finished 90% of the food ☜(⌒▽⌒)☞

The below recipe is for one serving. I can't remember exactly how much water I put so here's the estimate and you can actually adjust when you are experimenting.

One spoon of chopped Onion
Half spoon of margarine
100gram of finely chopped broccoli
1 slice of cheddar cheese (cut it into small pieces)
50ml milk (it can be your baby's formula milk)
300ml water
Salt and pepper (to taste)

1. Melt margarine and add in chopped onion and fry until fragrant or the onion turns into very light yellow color
2. Add in water and and cook until boiling, then add in broccoli
3. Cook for about 5 minutes, add in milk and stir in cheese until melted
4. Cook with medium heat until the soup turns bubbly, add a pinch of salt and black pepper (optional)
5. If you prefer a creamier soup, just add in some corn flour

For those who would like to try creamy version which is suitable for whole family, you may visit Comfort of Cooking.

Enjoy cooking!

Merry Christmas 2013

Christmas is more of a family holiday than a religous holiday to me. It is the best festive season as I love the warm and joyous atmosphere. It’s like a type of electric in the air. I love the Christmas songs, Santa, Christmas tree and winter wonderland Christmas.

Christmas is the time of giving and sharing. It is the time to gather with the ones you love. Even we did not have any gift exchange this year, but we got to spend our quality time with Ken. This was the greatest joy for us!

I purposely read some Christmas activities on Pinterest and decided to do a homemade playdough with Christmas puppets for Ken.

Papa, Ken & Mummy on a snow wonderland with Santa Claus!

I DIY the Christmas tree by cutting a Isetan paper bag and the rest of the puppets are all downloaded from Nurturestore.

Nurturestore has a lot of ideas for kiddo's activities. And the printables download is also FREE!

As usual, Ken only spent less than 5 minutes to play on the puppets and playdough. But I was quite happy as my purpose on teaching him some new vocabularies had been achieved.

Love the cute and colourful printables! We also added some cotton on the playdough.

Happy family!

Before Christmas, we brought Ken to Sunway Pyramid for shopping and I found that taking photos with him nowadays is like a mission impossible as he just can't stand or sit still for more than 2 seconds.

So we only managed to capture candid shots T_T

Hmmm....... I must teach him how to pose and smile to the camera!!!

Okay, that's the end of this post. Gotta sleep early as tomorrow I need to go in to office punctually as I have applied half day leave to have our anniversaries celebrated in KL.

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

♥ Happy 4th Wedding Anniversary ♥

Today Billy and I celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary! I cannot believe it has already been four years!

I must say that our marriage is not perfect but it is wonderful because you fulfill my purpose in life to be a lover, friend, wife, and mother.

We have traveled to some interesting places. We have introduced each other to things that we like. We know each other so well and exactly what we would want to do for every occasion.

So much has happened and changed in our lives but what is important is our love and commitment to be with each other until our last breath.

To celebrate our anniversaries, I booked a photographer and makeup artist, ordered a new wedding gown and arranged the venue for our post-wedding photo shooting (✧◡✧)ノ

Yes, you might think that I'm crazy but I just love to take photos and I really wanted to have my wedding photo with a simple yet elegant long tail wedding gown. And most importantly is I do not have many photos taken together with Billy as he is my all time photographer so I think this is the best way of having more photos with him when I'm still young and gorgeous!

My post-wedding photos taken on August 2013! Love it to the max!

Of course hubby was being forced to have this shooting with me but I believe he enjoyed the process as we recalled a lot of sweet memories that we had during our pre-wedding photo shooting.

I’m so thankful for such a wonderful, thoughtful, and supportive husband.

Happy Anniversary and ♥♥♥♥ you!

It's all about KEN

If you have read my post on Facebook, you should know that Ken has contracted H1N1 virus and subsequently spread the virus to papa and mummy.

H1N1 is nothing serious but just all about a common influenza nowadays if you are at beginning stage. No hospitalisation is required. What we have to do is to consume the medicine prescribed, Tamiflu and be quarantined for 5 days.

Our 5 day quarantine period is finally over!

All of us have recovered fully! Ken managed to run and jump around making mess even on the second day of the medication.

Thanks God that it wasn't as serious as I thought. And I truly appreciate the caring comments and messages sent by my lovely friends. You guys are the best!

Here's are my lil diary of Ken's recent development and growth stage:

Ken likes to ask me to take out his drawing books by saying "draw draw". As this pen is erasable using tissue or cloth, he always pull a piece of tissue and erase when he finishes drawing. But he still do not know how to hold a pen properly.

As Ken grows, he has been becoming less interested in reading his books. His attention span has shortened, and he doesn’t even have the patience to flip from the first page to the last. What a bad boy!

And recently he likes to get us to switch on the TV by saying "on TV". And he will walk away after you turn it on (+_+)

And Ken has become an alarm for us for locking the car door whenever he sits in the car with us. Once he's seated he will repeatedly say "lock the door" until you tell him you have done so. Brilliant (^▽^)

Our play time in the bedroom. He was trying to pull my fake lashes OMG!

Ken's current favourite activity is climbing stairs. Even when we brought him to Strawberry Farm and Bee Farm at Cameron Highlands, he never bother all to look at the strawbies and bees but kept looking for stairs to climb up and down.

He can be a good helper sometimes!

His mouth really looks like his father when he laughs.

Besides stairs, he loves to walk around the fish pond in the garden.

Taught him to say fish but he never bother learn and til now he only knows how to say "Yu". T_T

Step step step!

Why were we laughing so happily?

Got him to touch the trees, grasses and flowers in the garden and he could now say these words accurately.

The evil side of Ken! He sulks and shouts (before he cries) whenever he doesn't get what he wants. A super bad tempered boy

And started from few months back, Ken always give papa and mummy surprise kisses when we are lying on the bed. He seldom disappoint me when I ask for kisses. And that's why I can't help but loving him more than what I expected.

The biggest challenge for me is to coaxing him to finish up his food. He always refuse to eat by shouting or crying, especially during dinner time. This doesn't happen at nanny's house so obviously he knows he's the prince here.

I have to throw in his favourite food such as beans and corns into every meal so that he will eat together with other ingredients. Headache max!

Any ideas how to get this lil boy to finish his meal without chasing him in the house? It's almost impossible for him to finish the meal with him sitting on the high chair except in the morning feeding. Because of this reason, I always need to coax and feed him so that he can eat as much as possible and til now, he is still unable to eat on his own.

Time flies and Ken is about two years old. So much has happened since then. It seems like only yesterday he was sleeping all day in his crib and now he's walking around everywhere making a mess! Aw.....

Before I end this post, let me wish everyone HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE!

Swiss & Germany Trip Outfits

Before I continue with the travelogue, let's have a peep on what I chose to wear during the trip. I will never be lazy in wardrobe planning when I travel to overseas for vacation. Hehe.....

Like many other girls I spent weeks to finalise my outfits. It could be faster if I could double up my luggage size so I no need to choose at all.

Day 1

Nothing could be more comfortable than a pair of jeans and long sleeve knit top when having a long hour flight!

Weather was cold as it was a rainy day so I gotta put on my biker jacket, which matched perfectly with my Timberland boots

Day 2

Purposely dressed up to look a bit more like princess as we were going to visit the Neuschwanstein Castle.

Heart my new white tweed jacket, pink princess dress and beige bowler. They transformed me into an English lady.

Day 3

This ivory versatile coat was also my new winter piece, which gave me an instant slim silhouettes!

As you can see snow were everywhere but surprisingly it wasn't freezing cold. Everyone enjoyed the stroll along the street heading to the St. Moritz lake.

Day 4

Today's outfit was a bit different. It was somehow more casual/streetstyle look.

This neon yellow blazer was less feminine compared to my usual outfits, giving me a new LEMON look..... LOL

Day 5

I wore two layers in this photo actually. I got the thermal bodysuit from Uniqlo which was really body-hugging, soft, and light. Okay, of course I was not going up to the snow mountain with this! This was only for photo :P

I threw on a chunky knit scarf in red to enhance the entire look as camel color coat was a little plain.

Day 6

It was a freezing cold morning in Zermatt but I still managed to walk and run with this super England style shorts and plaid long sleeve top.

And of course I invested on a thick and good-looking legging to avoid my legs becoming "ais-potong"

Day 7

My favourite red wool coat was the warmest and good-looking coat ever! This round I paired it with my new ginger-yellow knit scarf.

Then of course make sure to have leather gloves with intern fabric so that it could keep my hands safe from the cold. But I still felt super cold and almost numb T_T

Day 8

The highlight for the day was Houndstooth check skirt that I bought in Bangkok!

A simple grey knit sweater was just nice to warm me up. The belt added a textural element to the outfit and also compliment my look. What a perfect casual look in the heart of Zurich!

Speaking about winter wear, I like it lean and slim, light and chic. So how to manage to have a slim silhouettes with all the thick clothing on? The tricks are to invest in a good and light thermal wear and windproof coat. If budget allows, go for Cashmere coat. It's light yet incredibly warm.

Ultra Rejuvenation Crystallinear Therapy @Cres Wellness

This was my second visit to CRES WELLNESS and I was so happy to receive an invitation to write a review on the facial therapy.

I chose to do the treatment at AEON Seremban 2

I was told that CRES Ultra Rejuvenation Crystallinear Therapy is a highly effective reversal and therapeutic treatment which combined the mighty energy of the natural crystal and the state-of –the-art nano-technology. It can unblock and activate the lymph nodes, increase the flow of nutrients to the cells, and thus stimulate better and faster cell repair and renewal, leaving skin instantly revitalized and ultra smooth.

Dressing table

Super like this stone

I was brought to the therapy room after the consultation

The therapist showed me the crystals used for the facial massage. Different color of crystal has different level of mineral contents and she used the pink and the transparent crystals to unlock my lymph node.

My facial started off with the welcoming massage, followed by cleansing and exfoliation. A cold steamer was used to nurtures my dehydrated skin and helps to tighten and shrink my pores. The extraction was painless as they applied a layer of gel to soften my pores before the steam.

Then I was massaged with the Chakra Healing stone. Chakra Massage’s main function is to unblock and stimulate lymph nodes, increase blood circulation to allow more oxygen and nutrients to the body’s organs; it stimulates the release of endorphins to remove and soften tension and stress of the body and mind.

After Chakra massage, she used a nano technology ultrasound machine to massage my face to make sure the essence was penetrated into the skin to deliver the optimal result.

The therapist informed me to apply hydrating mask for 5 consecutive days so that I could get the best result. I did that and I found that my skin condition had improved so much. Blackheads are all softened and I can now do my extraction much more easier. Not only that, it also gave me a velvety smooth and radiant complexion (besides those acne scar left after the extraction). To my surprise, the result really lasted for a week!

Here's the BEFORE and AFTER photo! I did take the BEFORE and AFTER photos at the consultation room with the help of my therapist but too bad the lighting was not bright enough (and I didn't bring my camera's flash) to show the details on my face.

BEFORE - Dull skin OMG!

AFTER - Photo taken one day after the treatment. Super love my glowing skin! Smaller pores and smoother skin, especially on nose area, where I have problem with skin peeling always.

Although it is quite pricey, but I think it's worth every penny because of its esteemed brand of products and quality service! I will not visit a facial therapy salon that used unknown brand for the facial.

And the most surprising news I heard from a friend working in a small facial therapy centre is, the boss even instructed them to use SCENTED WET TISSUE as EYE MASKS for the customers and they charged like RM49 per treatment!!! Argghhh....... Scary right? You will never know what they put on your face unless you visit a prestigious and good facial therapy centre with the products under their own brand name.

I'm so happy with the result delivered by this treatment from CRES WELLNESS honestly. For your information, the Ultra Rejuvenation Crystallinear Therapy costs RM408 per treatment. If you are interested, you can call and ask whether they are having special price for first trial. They have promotions from time to time.
