Top Skincare Products For Air Travel

There's nothing like the thrill of going on holiday. But every air travel gives our skin a big challenge. And I really will do anything to make myself look less horrible when I step off the plane.

Simply because I do not want a PLANE FACE.

To fight with the drying cabin caused by the air pressure and recycled air on planes, I am happy to share with you my must-have skincare products.

1. Avène Thermal Spring Water

This is a super famous yet affordable skincare product that you can’t really go wrong with it. I use it as a toner after I cleanse my skin everyday because this doesn’t contain alcohol like most of the toner and it really makes my skin softer. It also works well to sooth my skin after comedone extraction at home.

I always use this as a spray to refresh myself when I’m not getting enough sleep on the plane.

Where to buy: Available at leading pharmacies
Price: RM18 for small size

2. HADA LABO Air Aqua UV

Before the plane touches down, I will always apply this on my face to give my skin enough sun protection for the whole day. This water-based sunscreen is definitely an easy-to-wear, non-clumping, lightweight and hydrating sunscreen. Super love this and I found it’s a lot better than those counter brand sunscreen honestly. I have tried Clinique, Clarins, Estee Lauder and Dior and none of them can beat Hada Labo.

Why is it a big winner? Simply because it’s grease-free and there’s no white sheen after application! It also provides good hydration level to my skin! In addition, the label says it’s Free of alcohol, colorant, fragrances and mineral oil. Feel so safe to use it!

I’m using the third bottle right now!

Where to buy: Available at leading pharmacies
Price: Around RM50

3. ESTEE LAUDER Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Recovery Complex

I have been using these for at least 5 years due to the oil-free formula and the texture that makes my skin feel hydrated. The oil-free formula can help prevent clogging the glands around the eyes, which is especially important for contact lens wearers like me.

It’s light, non-greasy and slips easily into any beauty routine.

Estee Lauder has launched a newer version which replaces this but I still prefer the gel type complex.

Where to buy: Cosmetic counter at leading departmental store
Price: RM220

4. KIEHL Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This essential oil is the must-have item if you are going to take a long haul flight!

After reading the good reviews about this product, I obtained a sample from Mid Valley and I tried this during my flight to Frankfurt. And I couldn’t believe that it actually delivered visible result with just one application!

This amazing essential oil kept my skin moisturized. It left my skin soft like a baby and I had no problem in putting on the ICI paint in the next morning. Usually putting on any type of foundation or BB cream will leave me a cakey look after exposing to the dehydrating effects of cabin pressure but this product has helped to lock in the moisture and increase skin’s hydration level!

The visible result has convinced me to purchase a full bottle before I flew to Melbourne. I also tested it during my Melbourne trip and it did not disappoint me at all.

Highly, highly recommend this as it works better than La Mer, which costs double!

I would recommend getting a sample before buying this product, just in case face essential oil doesn't suit you.

Where to buy: Available at Kiehl outlet
Price: Around RM225

5. ESTEE LAUDER Triple Creme

For a skin that needs extra nourishment, this is the perfect product that you should use on the first night after the long haul flight. It comes in a rich and creamy texture, so leaving skin moisturized and revitalized after 10 minutes of application time.

I always apply it after exfoliation for the best result. I find it leaves my skin soft, smooth, plumped up and totally hydrated! This product is great value for money as one jar can last for four to six months.

Highly recommended, especially for difficult facial dry patches.

Where to buy: Available at cosmetic counter at leading departmental stores
Price: Around RM150

6. CLINIQUE Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

I love this hydrating cream simply because it gives my skin a smooth and velvety finish. It’s my best skin saver when I travel because it can be used as a mask. No rinse-off is required. So convenient and easy to use on the plane!

Best of all, it can be applied at any time under or over make up. My favourite all day moisturiser!

Where to buy: Available at cosmetic counter at leading departmental stores
Price: Around RM160

Nothing ravages a complexion faster than a long-haul flight and thus I never travel without the skyhigh skincare essentials.

Remember that once the seatbelt signs are off, it's time to start your air travel beauty regime by cleansing and topping up with great serum and moisturiser.

Come on, let's make a long-haul flight BEAUTIFUL!
